Centurion voter Sargul Bibi, aged 102 from Dhanipur village, Lala of Hailakandi district is all set to vote in the general elections tomorrow.

Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer, Keerthi Jalli accompanied by SVEEP team went to the residence of centenarian Sargul Bibi to extend greetings to her and seek her promise to vote.
“It has been our tradition to seek blessings of our parents and grand parents and senior citizens,” she said, adding “Casting vote is crucial, as each and every vote counts. This enthusiasm of the centurion voter is a source of inspiration for all, particularly the younger generations, ” said Jalli.
The centurion voter was felicitated with a gamocha (uttorie) and a sheetal patti made by SHG members from Algapur with ECI mascot reminding the voters to vote on Thursday.
“She not only promised to vote but also encourage others especially senior citizens to come and join in the great festival of democracy, ” said Jalli.
