Assam: Fresh bomb threats to IndiGo, Air India, Vistara, SpiceJet flights

GUWAHATI- A fresh bomb threat has been issued to 27 flights, prompting heightened security measures at multiple airports. The flights affected include services by SpiceJet, IndiGo, Air India, and Vistara.
Six Air India flights, along with seven flights each from SpiceJet, IndiGo, and Vistara, were impacted by the threat. This comes a day after 95 flights of IndiGo, Air India, Vistara, SpiceJet, Alliance Air and Akasa Air received similar threats.

A Shillong-bound flight operated by SpiceJet Airlines made an emergency landing at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati on Friday.
The SpiceJet flight SEJ2448 was en route to Shillong from Delhi when it made an emergency landing at LGBI airport. It is suspected that the flight is one of the six SpiceJet flights that received fresh bomb threats taking the tally to 250 in the past few days.

In nine days, over 200 flights operated by Indian carriers received bomb threats, mostly through social media, that also forced the diversion of some international flights.
The government on Thursday asked social media companies Meta and X to share data pertaining to such hoax calls and messages made on their platforms targeting several airlines and asked them to cooperate, a source said.
