Meghalaya: Eastern Army Commander visits Assam Rifles HQ Shillong
The Army Commander visited a number of military facilities and institutions in the station and reviewed progress of certain ongoing projects.

The Eastern Army Commander visited the Headquarters of Assam Rifles located at Laitkor, Shillong on 18 November. He was briefed in detail about the various issues pertaining to the Force by the Director General Assam Rifles, he laid emphasis on the close relationship shared by Indian Army and Assam Rifles in maintaining the security situation in the North East.
Later in the day he visited Headquarter 101 Area wherein he was briefed on all relevant aspects of operations, administration and logistics by the GOC.

On 19 November the Army Commander met the Hon’ble Governor of Meghalaya Tathagata Roy at Raj Bhawan and discussed issues related to civil and military cooperation in the State.
The Army Commander interacted extensively with the troops and commended them for their professionalism & dedication to duty and exhorted them to continue the good work.
