Meghalaya: Governor pays tributes to Air Warriors

SHILLONG- On the eve of Indian Air Force (IAF) Day, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya, Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) laid a wreath at Vayu Yodha Sthal at Eastern Air Command Headquarters, Shillong on 7th October 2022.
He wrote as a tribute to the IAF martyrs, “With great respect and pride, I salute you the brave hearts for your sacrifice for the Nation”.
The Governor expressed gratitude to the Hq Eastern Air Command for all the Air assistance it has been providing to our State Arunachal Pradesh, particularly during natural calamities and medical emergencies.
He reposed his confidence that Indian Air Force, which is celebrating its 90th Air Force Day will continue to defend every inch of our motherland and instill a sense of security and pride amongst the citizens of our frontier States in the North Eastern Region.
The Governor visited the EAC Hq and interacted with senior Air Force officers on the occasion. Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal SP Dharkar, AVSM briefed the Governor about the IAF Eastern Command and its defence capabilities.
