Mizoram: Three including two CADC members died in road accident
The car fell into a 60 meter deep gorge and caught fire. Three people died on the spot, while two injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
AIZAWL- At least three people, including two members of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC), were killed in a road accident on the outskirts of Aizawl in the early hours of Monday. Police gave this information.
According to a statement issued by the police, the incident took place between 3 am and 4 am when the council members were on their way to the capital to meet the chief minister. They were coming from Chavangte, the headquarters of the Chakma council in Lawngtlai district. It is believed that the driver may have dozed off, due to which the accident took place.

According to the statement, five people were traveling in the vehicle and the accident took place in Meltham area. The car fell into a 60 meter deep gorge and caught fire. Three people died on the spot, while two injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Zilla Parishad (MDC) members Charan Singh Chakma (38) and Mohesh Boran Chakma (40) and Boroituli village council member Thebanosandro Tongchangya (46). Zilla Parishad member Lakhan Chakma (39) and Village Council member Dilip Kumar (45) were injured in the accident.

Kalendra Tongchangya, liaison officer of Chakma House in Aizawl, told PTI that the injured were discharged from the hospital after first aid.
He told that Charan Singh Chakma was driving the vehicle. They had left for Aizawl on Sunday evening. After the post mortem, the dead bodies will be brought to Chakma House in Aizawl and from there will be sent to their native village.
