The ₹180-crore elevated corridor at Pandu Port is expected to improve last-mile connectivity between the river port and the national highway network, helping reduce logistics costs and ease congestion in Guwahati.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said the development of modern cruise terminals on the Brahmaputra would strengthen river tourism and attract visitors from across India and abroad.

He noted that expanding cruise tourism would generate employment opportunities for local youth, artisans, small traders, boat operators and those working in hospitality and transport sectors.
