Tripura: Minor girl returning from school abducted, raped
A day earlier, another minor was allegedly gang-raped in North Tripura.
AGARTALA- A minor girl was allegedly abducted and raped on her way back from school in South Tripura district on Saturday. A day earlier, another minor was allegedly gang-raped in North Tripura.
Speaking to media, a police officer said the family members of the Class 5 student registered a complaint when she did not return home for hours after school. The girl was later left near her residence late Saturday evening.

“We have booked a 22-year-old youth on charges of raping the girl. He is a resident of the same neighbourhood where the girl’s family stays,” the official said.
The youth has been charged under Sections 127 (1) (wrongful restraint), 96 (procuration of child), 76 (assault on woman with intent to disrobe), and 65 (2) (rape on minor) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita along with Section 4 (punishment for penetrative sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Pocso).

On Friday, the Tripura Police arrested two youths for allegedly gangraping a minor girl in the North Tripura district. Both the accused are in their twenties.
The two youths allegedly abducted the victim when she went to a shop on Thursday evening, took her to a nearby jungle, and sexually assaulted her. She was later left by the perpetrators along the roadside in an unconscious state near her residence.
