Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal hails the Budget, says special focus on Northeast to further strengthen the growth

NEW DELHI-   The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal hailed the Union Budget as a pro-development & inclusive budget, which will contribute immensely towards the growth of  India’s economy.

The minister also hailed the special announcement made for Northeastern region- through empowering the North Eastern Council (NEC) – that is going to unlock the huge potential of the region. He expressed that the people of Northeast are happy for the sustained focus received during PM Modi’s leadership and it has already made significant progress which is only going to continue.

The special focus towards the economic growth of the country is expected via amped up infrastructure development under the Prime Minister Gati Shakti model.

The budget will lead to generation of employment opportunities in the country. He said, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman had presented an all-inclusive Budget which touches a wide spectrum of sectors.

The Minister said, the hallmark of the budget is that nearly every announcement or initiative reflected in the budget has a strong bearing on people’s welfare. He referred to the announcement of new initiatives for Gati Shakti project. He reiterated his ministry’s resolve to speed up the actions required under this project.

Shri Sonowal expressed hope that the shipping sector will attain new heights during the coming years, and will contribute to PM’s vision of a Gatiman Bharat.
