Assam: 500 Cr insurance scam, Jitul files new affidavit
Jitul Deka filed a new affidavit Gauahti High Court and alleged that insurance scam of more than 500 Crores Rupees is not only limited to Barpeta District but also spread in all over Assam.

In an affidavit filed on 17.05.2019 by Jitul Deka who filed PIL being 44 of 2018 before Gauahti High Court alleges that Barpeta Police is carrying out investigation in most bias manner on pick and use policy only for the sake of investigation so that they can’t be questioned.
In the said affidavit it is mentioned that only because of the notice issued by Gauhati High Court, Barpeta Police started investigation to save their skin. Further, it is stated in the affidavit that Insurance Scam as brought to the notice of High Court was in full swing with the help of the official respondents more particularly Barpeta Police.
Further, in the affidavit it is stated that till today not a single police official has been arrested by the Police. In the said affidavit it is further stated that insurance scam of more than 500 Crores Rupees is not only limited to Barpeta District but also spread in all over Assam.

But, Govt. of Assam is confined to Barpeta only. Till today nothing has been done to unearth the scam in other parts of the State. Moreover, the Official Respondents are only confined and investigating the matter to the information furnished by the Petitioner Jitul Deka.
In the said affidavit it is further stated that in the insurance scam private persons, Govt. officials, Govt. doctors , insurance companies officials, Assam Police are also involved but to the utter shock , the Barpeta Police intentionally has registered case only under the provisions of Indian Penal Code .
In the said affidavit it is stated that FIR ought to have been registered under provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947 , Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 also. In the said affidavit ,prayer is made for a high level investigation by setting up an SIT by an independent agency more particularly CBI and ED under the supervision of High Court.
In 151 pages affidavit, Jitul Deka has mentioned additional cases which is not investigated by Police.
