Assam: Kathalaya, the story space launched in Guwahati
Guwahati
Kathalaya Learning Centre Guwahati, a Story Space, was launched in Guwahati recently. This is a centre for story telling and puppetry which is in link with the Kathalaya Academy of Story Telling, Bengaluru.
With the vision of making a positive change in the society, this space helps create imagination and creativity in children and adults alike. “Tell me a fact and I will learn. Tell me a truth and I will believe. But tell me a story, and it will remain in my heart forever.” With this thought, the story space encourages learnings through different stories which not only educate but also help build better vocabulary, build relations and boost confidence in a child or adult.
The launch was presided over by Prof. Sahajananda Ojah, an eminent educationist and a sports stalwart. He has been awarded several prestigious titles and is currently the President of the governing body of ADP college, Nagaon.
Kathalaya being one of the first of its kind in North East, Director of this Centre, Mrs.Leena Dutta Baruah, who herself has been into education since over 18+ years now, is sure to have opened the doors to the fantastic word of Story Telling as pedagogical tool in education.
