GUWAHATI- The Election Commission has initiated the Special Revision (SR) 2026 of the electoral rolls in Assam, allowing voters to verify their names and update personal details online. The exercise is aimed at ensuring an accurate and inclusive voter list ahead of future elections.
Officials said the revision process focuses on the inclusion of eligible voters, deletion of duplicate or ineligible entries, and correction of details such as name, age, address and polling station information. The process is particularly significant in Assam due to migration, urbanisation and demographic changes.
How to Check Your Name in Assam SR 2026 Voter List (Step-by-Step)
Voters can check their details online by following these steps:
- Visit the official Election Commission voter portal:

- Choose one of the search options:
- Search by EPIC (Voter ID) number, or
- Search by Name, Age, District and Assembly Constituency
- Enter the required details and submit
- View your voter status, including:
- Name in the electoral roll
- Polling station details
- Assembly constituency and part number
If a voter’s name is missing or details are incorrect, applications for addition, correction, deletion or address change can be submitted online through the same portal by filling the relevant forms.
Election officials said Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are also conducting field verification to assist voters, particularly in rural and remote areas. Citizens are encouraged to cooperate with BLOs and complete the verification process within the stipulated timeline.
The Election Commission has cautioned voters against misinformation related to the revision exercise and advised them to rely only on official sources. Claims and objections received during the revision period will be verified before publication of the final electoral roll.
Officials said public participation in the SR 2026 process is essential to maintaining the integrity and credibility of the electoral system.
