CHOMOUKEDIMA- Violence reportedly broke out in Moava village under Medziphema subdivision of Chomoukedima district on Friday morning, allegedly linked to a land dispute between local communities. Visuals circulating online showed houses burnt, vehicles overturned, and property damaged, though officials have yet to release a detailed assessment of losses.

Sources on the ground indicated that tensions escalated following disagreements over land ownership claims. However, independent confirmation regarding the exact trigger of the incident and the extent of damage remains limited at the time of reporting.

Nagaland Police have deployed additional personnel to the area to prevent further escalation. Authorities said efforts are underway to stabilise the situation and maintain law and order, while monitoring developments closely.

Chomoukedima district, located around 14 kilometres from Dimapur, has witnessed periodic tensions linked to land ownership disputes and boundary disagreements in the past.
