Operation Sindoor: Amit Shah Chairs High-Level Security Review with Border States
The meeting came in the wake of the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, a coordinated military response targeting nine terror-linked locations.

NEW DELHI- In a decisive demonstration of India’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level security review meeting today with the Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors of border states adjoining Pakistan and Nepal, following the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22.
The meeting came in the wake of the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, a coordinated military response targeting nine terror-linked locations.

The operation, carried out by the Indian Armed Forces during the night of May 6-7, destroyed multiple terrorist training camps, weapons stockpiles, and hideouts associated with outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
Describing the strike as a “befitting reply”, Amit Shah hailed the operation as a powerful message to those threatening India’s sovereignty. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his firm leadership and all participating states and forces for their coordination and support.

“All CMs and LGs present congratulated Prime Minister Modi and the three armed forces for the success of Operation Sindoor,” said Shah.
The Home Minister issued several directives to ensure national preparedness and stability:
- Keep SDRF, Civil Defence, Home Guards, and NCC units on alert.
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of essential services like hospitals and fire departments.
- Monitor social media and online platforms for anti-national content and respond with coordinated action.
- Strengthen security at vulnerable points and maintain seamless communication across agencies.
Shah urged states to combat misinformation, promote public awareness, and enhance cooperation between local administrations, the military, and paramilitary forces. He also emphasized citizen participation through NGOs and community engagement.

The virtual meeting was attended by top officials including the Union Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau, DGs of BSF and CISF, as well as representatives from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Sikkim.
Operation Sindoor stands as a firm reiteration of India’s commitment to national security and territorial integrity, sending a resounding message to adversaries at home and abroad.
