Operational Group meeting held

An Operational Group meeting chaired by Lt Gen AS Bedi, YSM, VSM GOC 4 Corps with DGP Assam in attendance along with senior functionaries of State Govt, Police & representative of BSF, CRPF & SSB was held at Narangi Cantt on 25 Oct 2017.
The meeting reviewed & discussed matters of importance & formulated guidelines for ensuring & keeping the region incident and terror free.
The meeting also brought to light the requirement to allay fears in the populace regarding NRC & its fall outs the members further stressed the need to institute mechanism to provide info till the grass root level via NRC Seva Kendras being established by State Govt as well as through media campaigns including all other mediums on various safe guards instituted by the Govt in terms of legal recourse available to the populace post NRC publication.
He assured whole hearted support by the Army to the Govt & stated that Civic Action programmes of State Govt & Army should go hand in hand to accrue true benefits. He complimented all the security agencies for ensuring a peaceful festive season including successful hosting of U-17 FIFA World Cup & was sanguine of continued cohesiveness amongst all stake holders leading to successful maintenance of peace & tranquility in Assam.
