Rahul Gandhi Alleges ‘Massive’ Voter Fraud, Accuses Election Commission of Collusion with BJP
He further alleged that CCTV footage and voter lists, which could serve as evidence, were being destroyed by the ECI.

NEW DELHI– Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, held a press conference at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in New Delhi today, leveling serious allegations of large-scale voter fraud against the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Gandhi claimed the ECI was colluding with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to manipulate electoral rolls, describing the act as a “crime against the Indian Constitution.”
During the media briefing, Gandhi presented what he called “open-and-shut proof” of voter fraud, citing evidence of fake voters, duplicate entries, and invalid addresses added to electoral rolls since the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

He highlighted specific cases, such as over 11,000 duplicate voters and 40,000 fake addresses in Karnataka’s Mahadevapura constituency alone, where the Congress lost to the BJP in the 2023 Assembly elections.
Gandhi also pointed to a suspicious spike in voter numbers in Maharashtra, where 39 lakh new voters were added in just five months between the 2024 Lok Sabha and Assembly polls, compared to 32 lakh over the previous five years.
“This is not just vote theft; it’s an attack on the idea of one man, one vote,” Gandhi stated, accusing the ECI of enabling the BJP to secure narrow victories in key constituencies.

He claimed the Prime Minister relied on manipulating just 25 seats to maintain power in 2024, with the BJP winning those seats by margins of less than 33,000 votes.
Gandhi also cited an example of a voter, Gurkirat Singh Dang, who allegedly appeared multiple times across different polling booths, and a case in Bangalore Central where a woman, Shakun Rani, reportedly voted twice.
Taking a hardline stance, Gandhi warned ECI officials involved in the alleged fraud, saying, “This is no less than treason. We will not spare you, whether you’re active or retired.” He further alleged that CCTV footage and voter lists, which could serve as evidence, were being destroyed by the ECI.

The BJP dismissed Gandhi’s claims as baseless, with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis suggesting the Congress was using these allegations to deflect from electoral losses. An analysis of Maharashtra’s voter data since 2009, published by India Today, argued that the addition of 39 lakh voters in 2024 was not unusual, citing similar spikes in 2009 (30 lakh) and 2014 (27 lakh) during election years.
The Congress has vowed to release further evidence to substantiate its claims, with Gandhi asserting that the revelations would “shake the foundations of the ECI.”
