JORETHANG – Chief Minister PS Golay on Saturday visited and inspected the areas  that has been affected by rain and flash floods in Jorethang.

He gave instructions to the relevant departments, including PHE, Power, and UD&HD, to collaborate and formulate a comprehensive project aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the public and the affected area.

The Chief Minister urged the residents who have been affected to relocate to a safer place, assuring them that the Government will take immediate action to provide relief. He stressed the importance of adopting precautionary measures to ensure the well-being of the residents.

The incessant rainfall in the past few weeks had caused swelling of the river Rambang which led to extensive damages caused by mud and land slides to the properties in and around the area.

The  Minister for Land, Revenue and Disaster Management Mr. Kunga Nima Lepcha along with HoDs from PHE, Power Department and UDD, DC (Namchi) Mr. M. Bharani Kumar accompained by other officials were also present with the chief minister.
