Cadets of 47 Assam R&V Squadron Shines in State Equestrian Championship
GUWAHATI- Team 47 Assam R&V Sqn NCC led by Col Shomir Bhatnagar, Officer Commanding, took part in the recently concluded Assam State Equestrian Competition held at DPS Numaligarh from 12 -14 March 2021. The event was hosted by Delhi Public School, Numaligarh under the aegis of Equestrian Federation of Assam. Participants include contingents from Assam Police Equestrian Team, 47 Assam R&V Sqn NCC, Assam Valley School, Royal Global School, the EFA Equestrian Team and the host Delhi Public School, Numaligarh.
A numbers of Competition were held to include Dressage, Show Jumping, Top Score, Fault and Out, Six Bar, Tent Pegging and Hacks for two age group- Senior and junior. The event was attended by Lt Gen Rana Pratap Kalita as the Chief Guest and Maj Gen Ananta Bhuyan as Guest of Honour. The Championship was overseen by Shri BK Dey Sawian, IPS(Retd) , Ex- Secretary PMO and Ex- DGP Meghalaya as Technical Director of the Championship.
In the Junior dressage Competition, Cadet Kavya Bagrodia astride Milo was awarded Silver and Cadet Arjun Chalia astride Oscar won the 4th position. Under Officer (UO) Angad Sekhon astride Thunderbolt won the Gold Medal in the Tent Pegging Competition and Senior under Officer (SUO) Prakash Nehra astride Raju and Under Officer (UO) Taye astride Amar won the Silver and the 4th Position respectively.
In the Open Hack category SUO Prakash Nehra astride Oscar and Cadet Prahar astride Milo won Silver and the 4th position. Cadet Niharika astride Raju and Cadet Angela astride Milo won Bronze and 4th position in the Ladies Hacks.
SUO Sidhant Kabra astride Galaxy won the Silver in Fault and Out and SUO Prakash Nehra won the 4th position. In the Six Bar category, SUO Sidhant Kabra astride Oscar won the Silver and SUO Prakash Nehra astride Milo won the 4th Position. The overall medal tally of 47 Assam R&V Sqn NCC in the Competition is one Gold, Five Silver, Two Bronze and Six Fourth Position.
