Indian Army organises Karbi Traditional games

In an attempt to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of East Karbi Anglong, the troops of Indian Army is organising Karbi Traditional Games in collaboration with East Karbi Anglong Arts and Cultural Society on 06-07 Jan 2020 at Diphu.
CEM (KAAC) Tuliram Ronghang was the Chief Guest of Inauguration Ceremony conducted on 06 Jan 20. The event witnessed participation of six club teams from the district and was conducted at Karbi Arts and Cultural Society Stadium, Taralangso.
Various traditional games such as Hambi Kapathu, Kengdong Dang Kekap, Lang Pum Sok Chan, Baptheli Ke’ap were organized.
An ESM Rally was also clubbed with the cultural games to address the concerns of ESM hailing from East Karbi Anglong. Number of stalls from various welfare agencies of army and civil administration were also set up at the venue to facilitate and educate veterans.
The event aimed at increasing awareness about the rich culture of Karbi tribe and foster harmony amongst the locals besides building a lasting relationship with Army.
