Manipur: Assam Rifles rescues civilians amidst turmoil in Jiribam

Assam Rifles conveyed the locals to have faith in them and avoid miscommunication in future.

JIRIBAM-   On 09 Jun 24, Assam Rifles column, deployed for Internal Security duties, was returning from BoroBekra in Jiribam district after the patrolling.

While on move, a distress call was received by the troops from a  couple  who along with their two children were stuck at Leisabithol village. Their house was burnt by unknown miscreants a couple of days ago.

Reacting to the call, Assam Rifles swiftly evacuated the couple and children from Leisabithol village.

While returning back, near Uchathol village, Assam Rifles vehicles were stopped by a group of women wanting to ascertain the details of personnel being rescued.

Assam Rifles contacted Police officials. Post their arrival, situation was handled by Jiribam police.

The evacuated family was dropped safely in the Bidyanagar Sports Stadium, Jiribam wherein they were provided with relief and succour.
