Nagaland Woman Held in Massive Meth Seizure
NCB and Delhi Police dismantle a transnational synthetic drug cartel operating through Delhi, arrest two individuals—including a woman from Nagaland—and seize 328 kg of methamphetamine.

KOHIMA- In one of the biggest narcotics crackdowns reported from the capital, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), along with the Delhi Police Special Cell, has dismantled a transnational methamphetamine network and seized 328 kg of high-purity meth worth an estimated ₹262 crore. Two individuals, including a woman from Nagaland, were arrested on November 20 in connection with the case.
According to an official statement by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the operation—titled “Operation Crystal Fortress”—was the result of a coordinated intelligence-driven effort aimed at identifying and disrupting high-volume synthetic drug cartels using Delhi as a key hub.
NCB said the seizure was made from a residence in the Chhatarpur area of Delhi after months of surveillance, technical monitoring and human intelligence inputs. The agency added that the arrested woman was a resident of Nagaland, and her apprehension was made possible with assistance from the Nagaland Police.

Investigators revealed that the cartel had established a multi-layered supply chain involving couriers, safe houses and handlers operating across different cities. The drugs were allegedly being channelled to both domestic markets and international networks.
NCB officials also stated that the alleged kingpin of the cartel—currently believed to be based abroad—has been identified. He is already wanted in connection with a major case involving the recovery of 82.5 kg of high-grade cocaine in Delhi last year. The agency said efforts, in coordination with foreign enforcement bodies, are in progress to facilitate his deportation to India for prosecution.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, reacting to the developments on X, termed the operation a “brilliant example of seamless multi-agency coordination” and said the government is dismantling drug cartels “at an unprecedented pace” as part of its push for a drug-free India.
Authorities noted that the recovery marks one of the largest methamphetamine hauls in Delhi in recent years, underscoring the capital’s emerging significance as a distribution node for synthetic drugs. The NCB urged citizens to report narcotics-related information through the national MANAS helpline (1933).
