Assam: 8th Sport Climb Camp concluded successfully

A total 45 of climbers participated in this camp. The climbers hailed from different parts of the state.

GUWAHATI-  8th sport climb camp organised by Assam Sport Climbing Association which was started on 1st November’2021 has been concluded successfully on , 13th November’2021 at the 4th Assam Police Battalion Campus.

A total 45 of climbers participated in this camp. The climbers hailed from different parts of the state. Among the participants the age group started from 8 and no upper age limit.

It may be mentioned here that during the existence of last 5 (Five) years of Assam Sport Climbing Association, we have trained more than 500 climbers, including both men and women, from all over the North Eastern region. This course is an introduction to the basics of sport climbing.

After the camp, a competition was organised among the climbers across several categories, in order to encourage the climbers. Then the certificate distribution alongwith the closing ceremony was held in the premises of 4th APBn.

The meeting was presided by the president of the Association Sjt. Swapnanil Barua, IAS (Retd.) It was enriched by the presence of Dr. L. R. Bishnoi, Special DGP (T&AP), Assam and IGP (BTAD), Kokrajhar, Assam as a chief guest.

The others who were present were Commandant of 4th APBn Mrs. Indrani Barua, IPS, Mrs. Archana Bhattacharjee the first lady mountaineer of Assam and Mrs. Biva Rani Devi wife of (L) Bimal Chandra Goswami pioneer of sport climbing in the North-East and Kishore Barua, President Assam Mountaineering Association.
