Assam: BSF and Cachar Police seize Yaba tablets worth Rs 26 Cr in Silchar
The seized Yaba tablets along with Tata Xenon handed over to the Police Station, Sadar, Silchar, District Cachar (Assam) for further legal formalities.
GUWAHATI- The BSF, in its drive against illicit trafficking of Drugs and Narcotics, carried out a joint operation with Cachar Police on 12 Oct 23 during night hours while acting on a specific input about large number of illicit trafficking of Yaba tablets in a Tata Xenon car on NH-37 coming from Silchar towards Karimganj side.
Accordingly, the joint team of BSF and Cachar Police intercepted Tata Xenon car, registration no. MZ 05 9625 at about 2150 hrs near general area of Srikona, Silchar and carried out thorough search of the vehicle and recovered 26 Pkts of Yaba tablets (containing 10,000 tablets in each Pkt), total 2,60,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 26 crore concealed in the cavity of tail light and upper differential cavity (rear side of the vehicle).

It is pertinent to mention that Mizoram and Cachar Frontier, Border Security Force have seized a total of 7, 97,070 Yaba tablets since Jan’2023.
