Assam: DA takes steps for 100% MR vaccination in Hailakandi
District Administration of Hailakandi formed District Supervisory and Monitoring Committee to ensure 100% MR vaccination.

With a view to ensuring smooth and hassle-free Measles Rubella vaccination campaign and attaining cent per cent vaccination, the district administration has constituted a District Supervisory and Monitoring Committee.
In a notification issued to this effect, Deputy Commissioner Adil Khan constituted the five-member committee headed by Joint Director, Health Services, Dr.Avijit Basu, to ensure 100% MR immunization of all children in the age group of nine months and 15 years across the district. A little over 2 lakh children will be covered under the vaccination drive.
Additional Chief Medical and Health Officer, Dr.Abed Rasul Mazumder is the Member Secretary while District Immunization Officer, Dr. K. Thambalsena, District Programme Manager, NHM, Maruf Alom Barbhuiya and District Media Expert, Monika Das are members of the committee.
The committee will coordinate closely with the implementating agencies and chalk out strategies to bring those schools that have refused to vaccinate under the MR campaign.
It will have to gear up IEC activities, meetings with parents-teachers and leading citizens to spread awareness about the safety and efficacy of the MR vaccine. The committee will have to submit the status of the vaccination drive every day to the Deputy Commissioner.
It also have to adopt multi-pronged approach for identification and ensuring vaccination in outreach areas, fixed sites and high risk areas.
Deputy Commissioner Khan asked the committee to report immediately in the event of any hindrance posed by any elements to the MR vaccination sessions.
