In a shocking incident , Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh’s convoy was allegedly attacked in Purba Medinipur’s Khejuri.
Himanta Biswa Sarma, in a series of tweets, said he and Dilip Ghosh were “mercilessly attacked” by Trinamool Congress workers in Khejuri in Kanthi Lok Sabha constituency.
Himanta Biswa Sarma said the “TMC goons” blocked the roads even as the West Bengal police stood at the scene as “mute spectators”.
It has also come to light that the alleged goons of the Trinamool Congress had blocked the roads on both sides and were allegedly abusing the BJP workers. “Both BJP State President from Bengal Dilip Ghosh and I got stuck in the middle of the road,” said Himanta in his Facebook post.
“We are at Khejuri in Kanthi LS constituency and attacked mercilessly by @AITCofficial goons. Many of our workers are injured even as @MamataOfficial goons gheraoing and abusing us. @BJP4Bengal President @DilipGhoshBJP and I are stuck (sic),” Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on Twitter.

I am appalled at such brazen abuse of power by @MamataOfficial whose people have thrown all democratic norms to gutter. Is this the #NewIndia that we dream of? pic.twitter.com/BcW5AxLXKa
