Assam: NCC remebers Martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh
JORHAT- Remembering the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh, the officers and staff and NCC cadets of Jorhat Group paid rich tributes to those who lost their lives and spread awareness of the infamous massacre amongst the locals.
On 13 April 1919, British soldiers under command of Col Dyer opened fire at a crowd of unarmed protestors and pilgrims who had gathered in Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar on Baishakhi.
About 1000 peoples including women and Children were killed. People who assembled peacefully at Jallianwala Bagh to condemned the arrest of two leader Satyapal and Saifuddin Kitchlew.
To mark the event, NCC Jorhat Group also organized a massive Plogging run in which 300 NCC Cadets participated and also contributed towards cleanliness of the city in addition Nukkad Natak too was organized at prominent places to generate awareness against use of plastics.
In the meanwhile NCC cadets of Dimoria College under 60 Assam Girls Bn and Cadets of Tihu High School under 48 Assam Naval NCC also carried out awareness and cleanliness drive on “ Say No to Plastic”
