Himalayan Railway suspends NJP-Darjeeling toy train service for 4 days

Guwahati

Due to incessant rain a major landslide occurred at Lower Paglajhora between Gayabari and Mahanadi of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway suspended the NJP-Darjeeling toy train services for 4 days from today .

Approximately 60 metres of railway track was damaged by falling boulders resulting in stoppage of train movements in the section.

Since the boulder slip is occurring in frequent intervals, restoration work will be undertaken only after cessation of rain and stabilization of the topography.

keeping in view the safety of passengers Himalayan Railway  authorities cancelled the 52540 / 52541 New Jalpaiguri –Darjeeling Passenger from 2nd to 5th August 2018.
