Maruti Suzuki Partners NCC for 21-Day Rally Across Northeast India

The journey commenced in Shillong and is set to culminate in Guwahati on November 26, 2023, marking the 75th anniversary of the NCC.

SHILLONG-  In a collaboration, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has joined hands with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) to embark on a remarkable 21-day rally spanning over 3,500 kms across the Northeastern region of India.

This venture aims to promote youth participation in the NCC and foster cultural exchange within the Northeast. The journey commenced in Shillong and is set to culminate in Guwahati on November 26, 2023, marking the 75th anniversary of the NCC.

A team consisting of 18 dedicated NCC officers and 76 cadets will navigate over 3,500 kilometers, utilizing 7 Maruti Suzuki Jimnys and 5 flagship Grand Vitara SUVs.

The rally will traverse multiple Northeastern states, including Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya, culminating on November 26th, 2023, in Guwahati.

The ceremonial flag-off for this rally was held today in the presence of the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K. Sangma, accompanied by senior management from Maruti Suzuki, the Director General of NCC, and the Director General Assam Rifles from GOC 101 Area.

Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “this journey unfolds with the SUV companions from Maruti Suzuki – Jimny and Grand Vitara, I would like to wish each and every one who is a part of this journey the best.”

Major General Gagan Deep, ADG, NER DTE, NCC, stated that the car rally aims for a sense of camaraderie, leadership, sportsmanship, adventure, and imbibing the spirit of patriotism among the youth, inspiring them to uphold the values that the National Cadet Corps stands for.
