Mizoram: BJP receives big jolt in Chakma Council as its GS joins MNF
KAMLANAGAR: The Bhartiya Janta Party BJP in Mizoram’s Chakma Autonomous District Council has suffered another staggering blow with its existing General Secretary ( Organization ), Dangu Prityrup Chakma along with hundreds of his followers joining the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF ) at Kamalanagar on Wednesday, the 3rd March, 2021.
A short induction programme was held at the party’s office during which Mr Chakma was accorded a rousing welcome in the presence of Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma, CEM, CADC, councilors and party workers.
A prominent and active leader of Chakma District BJP, Mr Chakma had contested the CADC General election in 2018 on BJP ticket. In his joining letter, he stated that the MNF party’s gaining a comprehensive development in the Chakma Autonomous District Council under the ablest leadership of CEM Rasik Mohan Chakma and his excellent team has inspired him to take the decision.
The diminishing fortune of the BJP in Mizoram is becoming true from the fact that Mr Prityrup Chakma has taken the decision to quit the BJP after successive failures in the accomplishment of various issues along with its lone BJP legislator Dr.Buddha Dhan Chakma.
The BJP has been fast losing ground in the Chakma Autonomous District Council as scores of high level party leaders have switched to the ruling MNF and there seems to be no end to the joining spree. Hundreds of BJP supporters are expected to follow suit in the near future.
