Viral Video- Amid heavy monsoon rains, Mizoram witnessed alarming scenes as a building totally collapsed on a steep slope in Aizawl and a large tree falls onto a power supply line, disrupting electricity in the area.
Viral Video footage from the scene shows a multi-story structure gradually giving way, its base destabilized by continuous rainfall and a shifting hillside. Three persons has been rescued from the site, however no casualties have been reported so far, as most residents had already vacated the area after earlier warnings.

In a separate incident, a massive tree uprooted by rain-soaked soil fell onto overhead power cables, causing sparks and a short circuit. The fall led to temporary power outages and traffic disruptions on the adjacent road.
Officials from the Mizoram State Disaster Management Authority (MSDMA), along with fire services and electricity board staff, are on-site conducting rescue, repair, and debris clearance operations. The area has been cordoned off to prevent further incidents.
Authorities have issued alerts for people in landslide-prone regions and are urging immediate evacuation from structurally vulnerable buildings.
