A 57-year-old deaf and mute woman was sexually assaulted by 22-year-old man in a village under Soreng police station in west Sikkim.

In another shocking incident, a 57-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a 22-year-old man. The incident happened in a village under Soreng police station in west Sikkim on May 12.
According to information received from the police, the man Sarup Rai (22) has been arrested and a case of rape has been against him.
Rai originally hails from Lim busty in West Bengal. “A brother of the victim saw the accused sneaking from a window of the room, the victim in a sign language informed her sister that she was sexually assaulted by Sarup Rai from the same village,” said the police.
Rai has been arrested and is on police remand.
