Assam: Girl students to receive self-defence, skill development training
The training would help the girl students to protect themselves from lurking dangers by imparting them training on self-defence.

Sarba Siksha Abhiyan, Hailakandi is going to organise a self-defence and skill specific training to girl students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in South Hailakandi.
Informing this, Inspector of Schools cum District Mission Coordinator, SSA, Rajiv Kumar Jha said the training would help the girl students to protect themselves from lurking dangers by imparting them training on self-defence.
“It is noteworthy that girl students are being empowered physically, mentally and emotionally through this training. Under it, girls are trained by highly trained instructors to deal with any unexpected situation at educational institutions, public places etc, ” said Jha.
Besides self-defence training, skill development specific training pertaining to different avocations that are in great demand will also be imparted.
Jha said the training will continue till March 31 and those interested may contact the school authorities or the office of the District Mission Coordinator, SSA for enrollment of their names.
