NESO bandh against CAB hits normal life in Manipur

Normal life in Imphal and other parts of the state has been severely affected on Tuesday due to total shut down called by Northeast Student Organisation ( NESO).  Almost all streets of Imphal show less traffic flow as commercial transporters stay off the road. Shops, business establishment,  petrol pump , banks were closed during bandh.

Here in Manipur, All Manipur Students Union ( AMSU ), a component of North East Students’ Organisation supported the total shut down as a part of NESO North East wide Total Shut down.

According to a  AMSU spokesperson, this is the first time in the history of Manipur  AMSU launched a campaign against illegal immigrants.

In 1980 AMSU, AMSCOC signed an agreement between the Government it clearly mentioned that “The Foreigner must be identified on the basis of the census report 1951 and the National Register of Citizen 1951 and the village directory 1951” .

In 2018, AMSU launched a campaign in Manipur against CAB and submitted memorandum to Governor not to pass CAB .
