Mizoram: BJP Felicitates 114 newly elected VCMs in CADC
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 114 of the 516 seats in the just-concluded Village Council General Elections 2020 in the Chakma Autonomous District Council.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Chakma Autonomous Council has feliciated 114 Village Council Members today at the BJP’s District Headquarters, Kamalanagar.
A Felicitation Programme of the newly elected BJP VCMs of CADC was organised at the District BJP Office where Mizoram lone BJP’s MLA Dr. BD Chakma, BJP National Council Member and former Minister Nirupam Chakma and all 7 elected BJP MDCs were also present.
BJP’s District President and former MLA Alak Bikash Chakma congratulated all the newly elected members and appealed to his partymen who lost the elections not to lose heart and continue to work for the party.
While addressing the programme AB Chakma said, ‘I thank the people of CADC who voted for BJP and believed us in this just-concluded VC General Elections’.
He also thanked the Mizoram Election Commission and the security personnel from Mizoram police for carrying out the entire process peacefully.
Mr. President also heaped praise on BJP karyakartas of Boranasury for winning all the five seats of Boranasury Village Council which happen to be under CEM Rasik Mohan Chakma’s Constituency and termed it a major defeat for the Mizo National Front.
While the party could not sweep the VC elections, he expressed satisfaction that the party got a clear majority in 17 village councils.
