Assam: ICSTIP-2025 Opens at Assam down town University
The International Conference on Science, Technology, Innovation and Policy (ICSTIP-2025) opened at Assam down town University, uniting global experts for sustainable research and development.

GUWAHATI- The International Conference on Science, Technology, Innovation and Policy for Global Health and Sustainability (ICSTIP-2025) was inaugurated today at Assam down town University (AdtU), marking the beginning of a major academic and research dialogue dedicated to fostering innovation for a sustainable future.
Organised by the Faculty of Science, the inaugural ceremony opened with a Lamp Lighting and Saraswati Vandana led by Dr. Radali Duarah, symbolizing enlightenment and the pursuit of knowledge.
Delivering the Welcome Address, Dr. Manash Pratim Sarma, President of ICSTIP-2025, highlighted the conference’s focus on interdisciplinary collaboration as key to advancing both national and global sustainable development goals.

Prof. N.C. Talukdar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of AdtU, delivered the Inaugural Address, reaffirming the university’s commitment to promoting research-driven education and innovation-led growth. Distinguished guests were felicitated for their contributions to academia and scientific advancement.
The Souvenir and Abstract Book of ICSTIP-2025 was formally released, featuring research papers that span fields such as biotechnology, environmental science, healthcare innovation, and policy frameworks for sustainability.

Prof. (Dr.) Kamal Malla Bujarbaruah, Former Vice-Chancellor of Assam Agricultural University, served as the Chief Guest, emphasizing that collaborative research and regional cooperation are vital for achieving inclusive growth—particularly in the North Eastern region.
The session’s highlight was the Keynote Address by Dr. Suraksha S. Diwan, Scientist-F, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, who spoke on “Harnessing Biotechnology for Sustainable Development in the North Eastern Region — India’s Emerging Growth Engine.” Dr. Diwan underscored how biotechnology can transform economies, create livelihoods, and ensure ecological balance.

Adding international perspectives, Mr. Marek Zborowski from the University of Applied Sciences, Poland, and Prof. Vera Ferro Lebres, Pro-President, Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal, shared insights on fostering global academic networks in science and technology.
The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Partha Pratim Kalita, Convenor of ICSTIP-2025, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, delegates, and researchers for their active participation and contributions.
