Himanta Biswa Sarma Meets Vice President, Highlights Assam’s Development Story
During a meeting at the VP Enclave in New Delhi, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma apprised Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan of Assam's development progress and sought his guidance for the state's future growth agenda.

NEW DELHI- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday met Vice President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan and briefed him on the state’s development trajectory, while seeking his continued guidance for Assam’s vision of becoming a “Viksit Assam”.
The meeting took place at the VP Enclave in New Delhi as part of the Chief Minister’s engagements with senior constitutional authorities and Union leaders regarding the state’s development priorities.
Sharing details of the interaction on social media, Sarma said he was honoured to meet the Vice President and present what he described as the “Assam Growth Story”. According to the Chief Minister, the discussion focused on the progress Assam has made in recent years across various sectors, including infrastructure, economic development and governance.

Sarma also praised the Vice President’s public life and leadership, describing him as an embodiment of humility, hard work and dedication. He said meetings with the Vice President were always a valuable learning experience and expressed confidence that his guidance would continue to benefit Assam’s development journey.

The Chief Minister noted that the state government remains committed to advancing its vision of a “Viksit Assam”, which aims to accelerate economic growth, strengthen infrastructure, improve public service delivery and expand opportunities for citizens.
The meeting comes at a time when the Assam Government is pursuing a range of development initiatives across sectors, including transportation, energy, urban infrastructure, healthcare, education and social welfare. The state has also sought greater collaboration with the Centre to support its long-term growth objectives and strengthen its role as a key economic hub in Northeast India.
While no specific policy announcements were made following the meeting, the interaction reflects the state government’s continued efforts to engage with national leadership as it seeks to advance its broader development agenda.
