NJP Sets New Benchmark with Rs 2.08 Crore Ticket Checking Revenue
The New Jalpaiguri Ticket Checking Section recorded over Rs 2.08 crore in May 2026, the highest monthly ticket checking revenue ever achieved by any section under Northeast Frontier Railway.
GUWAHATI- The Ticket Checking Section of New Jalpaiguri (NJP) under Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has set a new record by generating more than Rs 2.08 crore in ticket checking revenue during May 2026, marking the highest monthly earning ever achieved by any ticket checking section across the railway zone.
According to NFR, the milestone reflects the sustained efforts of ticket checking personnel in enforcing ticket compliance, curbing ticketless travel and strengthening revenue protection measures. Railway officials described the achievement as a significant indicator of operational efficiency and coordinated enforcement initiatives.
The record revenue was achieved through a series of ticket checking drives conducted throughout the month. The section maintained an average daily earning of more than Rs 6.54 lakh, while the highest single-day collection exceeded Rs 9.65 lakh on May 9, 2026.

Officials attributed the performance to the coordinated efforts of the ticket checking staff operating from the NJP/TTE Lobby. The workforce carried out regular inspections and enforcement activities aimed at ensuring compliance with railway ticketing regulations.
NFR stated that several staff members delivered notable individual performances during the month, contributing significantly to the overall revenue collection and helping the section establish a new benchmark within the zone.
Congratulating the team, NFR General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava and other senior railway officials said the achievement highlights the organisation’s continued focus on revenue protection, transparency, accountability and public awareness regarding proper ticketing practices.

Railway authorities noted that the accomplishment is expected to motivate other sections across the Northeast Frontier Railway zone to strengthen enforcement measures and improve operational performance. The achievement also underscores the role of ticket checking activities in safeguarding railway revenue while promoting compliance among passengers.
The latest milestone places the NJP Ticket Checking Section among the top-performing units within the zone and reflects the growing emphasis on efficient revenue management across Indian Railways.
