Assam: 57th ABSU Conference Begins in Kokrajhar, Focus on Education & Development
The four-day event, concluding on March 16, brings together policymakers, educators, and community leaders to discuss pivotal issues concerning education and youth development.

KOKRAJHAR- The All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) has inaugurated its 57th Annual Conference today, March 13, 2025, at Dotma Bodofa Field in Kokrajhar, Assam. The four-day event, concluding on March 16, brings together policymakers, educators, and community leaders to discuss pivotal issues concerning education and youth development.
A central focus of the conference is the ‘Mission Quality Education Movement-2030’, aiming to enhance academic frameworks and expand skill-building opportunities for the Bodo community.

The agenda includes an education and youth conclave, where experts will deliberate on strategies to empower students and professionals. Additionally, sessions are planned to analyze the impact of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 on regional learning.
A special segment is dedicated to ‘Bodofa’ Upendra Nath Brahma’s vision, examining his contributions to social transformation and cultural preservation. Discussions will also explore avenues for peace, unity, and sustainable development within the Bodoland Territorial Region, emphasizing enhanced cooperation among communities.

The conference features various activities, including sports tournaments, literary contests, cultural evenings, and an exhibition-cum-book fair showcasing Bodo heritage.
The concluding open session on March 16 is expected to host Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Bodoland Territorial Region Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro, senior ministers, parliamentarians, and other key stakeholders. Discussions will center on education, economic initiatives, and development programs to inform future policies.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to address the conference on March 16, as part of his three-day visit to Assam and Mizoram from March 14 to 16. During his visit, Shah will also inaugurate the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy at Dergaon on March 15.
Assam Cabinet Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma inaugurated the main pandal, marking the formal beginning of the convention.
Gossaigaon MLA Jiron Basumatary inaugurated the main entrance gate, while BTC Executive Member Ranjit Basumatary opened the exhibition, which showcases the rich cultural heritage and developmental strides of the Bodo community.
ABSU President Dipen Boro emphasized that the conference serves as a collaborative platform, bringing together diverse voices to drive meaningful progress in education and community development.
