GUWAHATI- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed the state police to take strict action against financial influential person Abhishek Kar for allegedly disseminating false and objectionable information about the history and traditions of Assam through podcasts on YouTube.
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Friday addressed the issue through X (formerly Twitter), highlighting the controversial content. “A video from a YouTube channel named Riya Upreti is in circulation in which a person named Abhishek Kar is seen making unacceptable remarks on Assam’s history and traditions,” the CMO said. Reacting to the matter, Assam DGP GP Singh said that he will take all necessary action on the issue quickly and legally keeping in mind the seriousness of the complaint.
