Delegation of Five African and Asian countries visit Mayfair Spring Valley Resort. Proud to welcome the guests: Ratan Sharma

Ambassadors invited Ratan Sharma, chairman of Mayfair Spring Valley Resort, to visit their respective countries and suggested him to open such a resort there as well.

GUWAHATI-  A delegation of five African and Asian countries, who came to explore the possibilities of tourism in the northeastern states including Assam, not only observed Indian culture and art on Wednesday night, but also imbibed it. These foreign guests also tied Rakhi and later danced on the traditional Bihu dance of Assam. The venue was Northeast’s largest Mayfair Spring Valley Resort, where all these foreign guests were overwhelmed by the hospitality of the resort full of natural beauty. All in one voice appreciated and enjoyed the wonderful facilities of the resort.

These foreign guests included  Mr. Godfrey Chipare  (Ambassador of Zimbabwe), Mr. Ganbold Dambajav (Ambassador of Extraordinary Mongolia), Mr. Mustapa Jawara (Ambassador of Gambia. High Commission in India), Mr. Lukmon Bobokalonzoda (Ambassador of Tajikistan in India), Mr. Gilbert Shimane Mangole (Ambassador of Botswana High Commission in India), Mr. Peter Hobwani (Deputy Head of The Mission/ Head of Chancery Embassy of Zimbabwe), Ms. Oumie Fatty (President of African Ambassadors wife Association), and Madam Josephine Patricia (CDA Excellency Gabon).

Ambassadors of Tajikistan and African countries later talking to the media said that they are all proud of the hospitality in Mayfair Spring Valley and we all got introduced to the Indian festival Raksha Bandhan. The Bihu dance of Assam here was very nice.

The facilities of the resort built amidst lush green lawns and natural beauty were highly appreciated by the foreign guests. All the ambassadors invited Ratan Sharma, chairman of Mayfair Spring Valley Resort, to visit their respective countries and suggested him to open such a resort there as well.

Honoring and congratulating the foreign guests on this occasion, Ratan Sharma said that it is a matter of pride for us that so many foreign ambassadors have come here. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Bishwa Sarma, there has been a lot of development in the field of infrastructural development and tourism. This is the reason that people from other countries are also coming here to see the untouched natural beauty.

On this occasion, all the foreign ambassadors discussed tourism and other commercial issues separately with Ratan Sharma and called upon to open gold mines, schools and colleges and set up other industries. Ratan Sharma told all the foreign ambassadors that very soon they will talk further on this subject and explore the possibilities of investment.

Sharma told that these ambassadors have a group of more than 100 countries and these ambassadors have assured them that from now on all the guests of their group will stay in this resort. This is a big thing for Assam and us.

Later all the foreign guests were welcomed and felicitated in a traditional manner and Rama Sharma tied Rakhi and applied Tilak to all the foreign guests and sweetened their mouths. Foreign guests were told about the importance of Raksha Bandhan.

The foreign guests and the women officers accompanying them also showed their goodwill by tying a rakhi on Ratan Sharma’s wrist considering him as his brother. The foreign guests remained in the sport for about five hours. The foreign guests were accompanied by social activist Asrama Begum and officials of the Indian State Department.

Also taking pleasure to inform you that the programme was followed by celebration of the birthday of Ms. Jiya, the lovely grand-daughter of Ratan Sharma.

Meanwhile, Ratan Sharma assured that “ We will further make efforts to invite many more dignitaries of other countries to visit our resort in the future”.
