India will Build Ropeway in Tawang Near China Border

The 5.2 km long ropeway project, to be built at a cost of Rs 522 crore, will extend from Tawang Monastery to PT Tso Lake.

TAWANG-  India has started the process of building a ropeway from Tawang Monastery near the China border in Arunachal Pradesh to PT Tso Lake at a cost of Rs 522 crore.

The 5.2 km long ropeway project, to be built at a cost of Rs 522 crore, will extend from the world famous Tawang Monastery to PT Tso Lake and will be developed within the next three years.

Let us tell you that the four hundred year old Tawang Monastery situated at an altitude of ten thousand feet, is the largest monastery in the country and the second largest monastery in Asia and it is very close to the China and Bhutan borders .

PT Tso Lake is situated at an altitude of twelve thousand feet, about eighteen kilometers away from Tawang.  It takes about half an hour to travel from Tawang to the lake by road, but by using the ropeway, one can reach this lake from Tawang in just five minutes.

The construction of this ropeway will boost tourism in the area and the tourists coming here will be able to enjoy the high hills and beauty of Tawang to the fullest through the ropeway.

Just a few days ago, Prime Minister Narendra had inaugurated the Sela Tunnel, after which China had expressed its objection to the Prime Minister’s visit to Arunachal. Which India rejected and said that Arunachal Pradesh was, is and will remain an integral part of India.

Now the ropeway being built in Tawang at a cost of Rs 522 crore is a befitting reply to China.
