Nagaland: Forest fire in Dzukou valley doused, State Govt felicitates Spear corps Dzukou warriors

Officers and Soldiers of Spear Corps received the token of appreciation on behalf of the entire team from Abhijeet Sinha, Home Commissioner and CEO NSDMA.

KOHIMA-  The forest fire in Dzukou valley raging since 29 Dec was finally doused by combined team effort of the Indian Army, IAF, NDRF and the state disaster management team after tiring efforts of 14 days on 11 Jan 21. State administration had requisitioned the Army on 07 Jan 21 and one army column was promptly deployed on 07 Jan21.

The Army column comprising of 02 Officers, 02 Junior Commissioned Officers and 48 Other Ranks steadfastly took over the task and doused the fire at an altitude of 2452 ft in 48 hrs and also created several fire lanes to arrest the spread.

As recognition of their selfless effort, the State Govt organised a Felicitation ceremony at Deputy Commissioner Complex Kohima. The team was felicitated by the state auth for their hard work on 15th Jan 2021 which happens to be the ARMY DAY.

Officers and Soldiers of Spear Corps received the token of appreciation on behalf of the entire team from Abhijeet Sinha, Home Commissioner and CEO NSDMA. The State administration expressed their gratitude for the prompt response and support from the Army.
