Nagaland- MoS Defence visits family of late Capt N Kenguruse, MVC at Kohima

During the visit by the Minister to the family members of Capt Kenguruse, he conveyed his gratitude, and felicitated and reassured the family members of support.

KOHIMA- Minister of State for Defence and Tourism Mr Ajay Bhatt visited the family of Kargil War Hero, Late Capt N Kenguruse, MVC at his home in Kohima on second day of his visit to Nagaland from 27 Nov to 28 Nov 21.

Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse was born on 15 July 1974 and hailed from Nerhema village in Kohima district of Nagaland. Capt Kenguruse was commissioned into the Army Service Corps of Indian Army on December 12, 1998. His family would fondly call him ‘Neibu’.

He sacrificed his life for the Nation at the age of 25 years, Capt Kenguruse was awarded the nation’s second highest gallantry award, “Maha Vir Chakra” for his raw courage, indomitable spirit and supreme sacrifice in Operation Vijay. Capt Kenguruse is the first recipient of Maha Vir Chakra from Army Service Corps (ASC).

During the visit by the Minister to the family members of Capt Kenguruse, he conveyed his gratitude, and felicitated and reassured the family members of support.

The Minister was earlier briefed by the senior military leaders on the first day of the visit wherein he also interacted with the troops and commended them for their professionalism and high morale.
