Sikkim Govt College Burtuk organised its Annual Fest – Vibes 2023

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang also unveiled the second edition of the News Letter College Chronicle, published by the College.

GANGTOK- Sikkim Government College Burtuk organised its Annual Fest – Vibes 2023, with the  theme of “Unity and Prosperity”, today.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with his spouse, Madam Krishna Rai, and Minister Education Department,  Kunga Nima Lepcha, was present as the Guest of Honour.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, in his address, expressed his appreciation to the college for extending him an invitation to this remarkable event. He emphasised the significance of Annual Fest’s in uniting students from different disciplines, fostering a sense of unity and collaboration among them.

He said that “ The College festivals are vibrant and dynamic celebrations bringing together students, faculty, and staff, fostering unity, and promoting holistic development. It also serves as a grand stage for students to unleash their creative potential.

In response to the concerns raised by the Principal of the College, the Chief Minister provided reassurance that the available land for the campus would be inspected and the demand for any new construction would be accordingly addressed. He also highlighted the various initiatives taken by the state government to enhance the education sector.

Furthermore, he urged the authorities at all levels to raise awareness about the importance of education and said that the state government would never compromise in the deliberation of quality education.

During the programme, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang also unveiled the second edition of the News Letter College Chronicle, published by the College.

The programme was also attended by MP Lok Sabha, Indra Hang Subba, MLA, Soreng Chakung Constituency,  Aditya Golay, Political Secretary to HCM, Jacob Khaling, Mayor GMC,  Nell Bahadur Chettri, Dy. Mayor, GMC, Smt. Tshering Palden Bhutia, Advisor, Education Department,  M.P. Subba, ACS, Education Department, R Telang, Area Incharge, Burtuk, Bikram Gurung, Secretary, Education Department, Smt. Sumita Pradhan, Director, Higher Education, Smt. Hondala Gyaltsen, Teaching and Non-teaching faculty, Alumni members of the College, along with esteemed dignitaries from various line departments and students.
