The latest TRAI subscriber data for May 2026 shows Reliance Jio crossing 5 lakh home broadband connections in Assam while maintaining strong growth in wireless subscribers.
GUWAHATI, June 30: Reliance Jio has crossed the milestone of 5 lakh Jio Home connections in Assam, according to the latest telecom subscriber data for May 2026 released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The figures indicate continued growth in the company’s home broadband services alongside sustained expansion of its wireless subscriber base in the state.
As per the latest data, Jio Home connections in Assam have reached 5,03,636 subscribers. The subscriber base includes 2,51,505 JioFiber wireline connections, 2,11,928 JioAirFiber (5G Fixed Wireless Access) subscribers, and 40,203 UBR Fixed Wireless Access connections.]

The figures reflect the company’s expanding home broadband network across both urban centres and areas where conventional fibre infrastructure remains limited. Nearly half of the Jio Home customer base now uses JioAirFiber, highlighting the increasing adoption of 5G-based Fixed Wireless Access technology for broadband connectivity.
In the wireless segment, Reliance Jio continued to register strong growth in Assam during May 2026, emerging as the leading telecom operator in monthly net subscriber additions, according to the latest TRAI data. The continued increase in subscribers reflects growing consumer adoption of the company’s 5G services, expanding network coverage, and digital service offerings.
