The Dibrugarh unit All Assam Students’ Union ( AASU ) and Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad jointly took out a protest rally in Dibrugarh on Thursday against the BJP led Central Government’s move to grant Indian citizenship to illegal migrants including Hindu Bangladeshis by implementing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and demanding scrapping of the Bill.
Thousands of representatives various organisations, Journalist forum, Dist unit of Axom Sahitya Sabha, Karmachari Parishad, Women organisations, Chamber of Commence, representatives of business establishments, various institutions, senior citizens, citizens of Dibrugarh and students of colleges, University participated in the rally.
