Assam: Adil Khan takes over reins as DC, Hailakandi

Adil Khan, IAS, took over the reins of the administration as Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi distrcit of Assam today. Khan took over the charge from outgoing Deputy Commissioner Krishna Govinda Bhuyan, ACS, at his office chamber in the forenoon.
Bhuyan has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, Home & Political Department, Government of Assam. He served as Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi for almost nine months.
A 2011 batch IAS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre, Khan was the Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong before his transfer and posting to Hailakandi.
Senior officials of the administration briefed the new Deputy Commissioner about the slew of development initiatives, the ongoing NRC updation exercise, panchayat election preparations and Aadhaar enrollment exercise, among other issues.
Khan sought the unstinted support and cooperation of the officials and employees to fast track the process of development on various fronts in the district.
Earlier, senior officials and employees of Deputy Commissioner’s establishment felicitated the new and outgoing Deputy Commissioners on the occasion.
It may be mentioned that Adil Khan, IAS, bagged the coveted award for Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana – one of the four priority areas of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for improving governance – during his tenure as Deputy Commissioner, Nagaon.
