Assam: Amar Dukan on Wheels distributed in Hailakandi
This is the highest number of Amar Dukan on Wheels allocated to Hailakandi district.

Seven numbers of Amar Dukan on Wheels were distributed on Friday in Hailakandi district of Assam.
Handing over the keys at her office premises, Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli said the scheme of the state government is a good step to generate self employment opportunities, as the scope of employment is limited in the district.
Jalli said the great step will inspire others to come forward and avail the scheme and contribute to the economic growth and development of the aspirational district.
She said that the shops on wheels will deliver fair price commodities at the doorsteps of the people across the district.

Speaking on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner, EL Faihraem said the Amar Dukan on Wheels will travel across the towns and villages and deliver essential commodities to the people at their doorstep. He said that monitoring would be conducted to evaluate their performance after every 10 days.
Under the new module, 22 non-PDS items (which may increase to 36) will be delivered at the doorstep of the consumers at below MRP with minimum profit margin.
Eco-friendly e-rickshaws is used as the transportation mode under the scheme. Through this scheme, the state government plans to promote cashless transaction as the e-rickshaws have a GPS enabled smart phone, bluetooth billing printer which is connected to the smart phone.
The basic objective of the scheme is to control price of essential commodities by weeding out the middleman.
Rs.100 crore has been earmarked in the current budget to provide finance assistance to the beneficiaries @ Rs.50,000 against each Amar Dukan on Wheels.
