Assam: Chavang Kut celebrated at Guwahati
The day was also celebrated to Mark the Centenary of Anglo-Kuki War in which the valour tribe fought against the Mighty British in the year 1917-1919.

The Kuki Community of Guwahati today celebrated the Post Harvest Festival “Chavang Kut” at Shilpgram Auditorium, Guwahati. The event was attended by all the Kukis residing in Guwahati with Paul Hangsing as the KUTPA.
The Festival commenced with Thanks giving dedication by Rev Dr. HM Songate . A numbers of Cultural Dance and Songs were performed by the Kukis . The Event also show case the rich tradition , Culture and Traditions of the tribe by displaying various Ethnic costumes .

A seminar cum lecture on Anglo- Kuki war was delivered by Dr N Kipgen , Associate Proffessor of IIT Guwahati on the occasion.
The event focused on Traditional customs and bonding that the Kukis people have since time immemorial. More than 800 audience attended the Chavang Kut Festival.
