Assam CM Showcases Child Marriage Crackdown as Best Practice at NDA CMs’ Conclave

NEW DELHI- Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma received high praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his government’s resolute drive against child marriage, which was spotlighted as a model initiative at the NDA Chief Ministers’ Conclave held in the national capital on Sunday.
Speaking at a press briefing from Assam House on Monday evening, Dr. Sarma revealed that the Prime Minister and other dignitaries at the conclave commended Assam’s campaign as a leading example of effective governance and social reform.
During the conclave, chaired by PM Modi, the Assam CM presented a detailed report on how statewide police crackdowns and community engagement have significantly curbed child marriage in the region.
“The Prime Minister lauded Assam’s efforts and urged other NDA-ruled states to take inspiration from our model in their own regions,” Dr. Sarma stated.
