Assam police arrested four people with 150 kg of cannabis and seized one isx wheeler truck and one innova , in Lakhipur, Cachar district of Assam.
Based on secret information on 17/03/2020 at about 08:30 PM Officer-in-Charge, Jirighat PS along with staff headed by Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Lakhipur, Cachar conducted search in a six wheeler Truck bearing Registration No.MN-01-7164 and one white colour Innova vehicle bearing Registration No.As-01-DV-3492 at Lalpani under Jirighat PS which were coming from Manipur side.
During search police recovered 150 KGs of suspected to be Cannabis contained in 16 (sixteen) Nos. of blue colour plastic packets from the said Truck. Accordingly Police seized the said Cannabis along with Truck & Innova vehicles and apprehended four persons.
They identified as Pangabam Indrajit Meitei, resident of Imphal East (Manipur), Raingam resident of Ukhrul (Manipur), Bidyut Deb resident of Lakhipur, District Cachar (Assam) & Jimpu resident of Lakhipur, District Cachar (Assam).
Police brought them to Jirighat PS for thorough interrogation. In this connection a case vide Jirighat PS Case No.23/2020 U/S-20(C) of NDPS Act has been registered.
